CORNFLOUR HALWA

Hey all ! Starting this week with a sweet note :-)
This is a very easy halwa recipe my sis taught me..
This halwa is made using microwave.. Yes no need
to stand in front of  the stove & stir for years :-)
Also this sweet can be made with some simple
ingredients from our pantry with very very
less ghee or butter..Awesome right :-)
Lets do it !!!!

CORNFLOUR HALWA RECIPE:
Recipe cuisine: Indian / Recipe category: Dessert
Prep time: 35 mins / cook time: 14 mins
INGREDIENTS:
Corn startch (white) : 1/2 cup
Sugar : 1 & 1/2 Cups
Water : 2 cups
Elaichi / cardamom powder : 2 pinch
Cashews (chopped) : 1 tblsp
Food colour (orange) : a pinch
Ghee / butter : As needed
METHOD:
Mix sugar/corn starch/water & food colour
in a microwave bowl without any lumps.
Microwave in high for 4 mins, give a stir &
microwave in high for 2 mins
Again Microwave in high for 8 mins,
stirring in between every 2 mins. It will
have a glossy appearance & the texture
will be jelly  like.

Mix chopped cashew & elachi powder  with
1/2 tsp of ghee. Microwave it for 2 mins,
stirring every 30 secs till cashews turn
golden brown. Add the cashew mixture to the
cornflour mixture that we microwaved for
 14 mins.Mix well.

Grease a tray with ghee & pour the mixture.
Spread the mixture evenly & cover it with a
parchment paper greased with ghee.

After 30 mins flip the tray upside down, the

halwa will fall down like a cake. Cut it into
desired shapes.

Enjoy mouthwatering halwa :-)

Note:
* Microwave time depends on the power of
microwave. So once you get glossy look &
the mixture thickens like jelly do not microwave
it. If not halwa will become very chewy.
* Instead of cashews, pista or almonds can be used.
* Please do not change the ratio of sugar or corn
starch.

Please do try and give your feedback..
Your comments and feedback are really important to me:-)
